A New York Times Bestselling Author, Andrea Beaty attended Southern Illinois University and studied Biology and Computer Science. Afterwards she worked as a computer software technical writer before changing professions around age 30. She's stated that tech writing was great training for writing for kids as it taught her to be a fierce self-editor.
The characters in Andrea's humorous picture books and novels are smart, funny, and unapologetic in their passion. They are doers. Curiosity, creativity, innovation and persistence are recurring themes in her work. In this episode Monte and David learn about Andrea’s writing process, having her books read on the international space station and working with the Obama’s production company in for the development of “Ada Twist Scientist” for Netflix.
